FACTS : 

Your jewellery is made of brass or sterling silver, which has a thick plating of 18K gold and sterling silver (if it has a brass base). This plating may fade over time because of contact with clothes, hard surfaces, sweat, perfume, hairspray, air pollution and others.

The gold plating is 2-3 microns of 18 carat gold that gradually wears off, giving the appearance that it has faded. Everyday or very frequent wear, may speed up this process, especially on items like rings, pendants and bracelets, which have more frequent contact with surfaces. We offer re-plating services at a low fee, for all enquiries, please contact queries@byalona.com. 

PRODUCT CARE : 

Avoid direct contact with water and chemical products e.g. soap, perfume, abrasive products. Do not wear jewellery when in the swimming pool, sauna/steam room or while bathing or showering. Chlorine, detergents, oils & perfumes can all cause tarnishing and damage. Avoid impact with hard surfaces as much as possible. 

When not in use keep your piece in the velvet pouch and box provided especially for earrings and beaded items for protection. Make-up, perfume & hairspray all contain chemicals which may dull the finish of your jewellery. Gently wipe jewellery with a soft cloth after each wear to remove make up and oils (from skin). Coil chains gently to prevent damage in storage.

TO REMEMBER :

You should treat your jewellery like any other wardrobe item. Clothes and shoes must be maintained e.g. washed, new soles, cleaned, repaired, etc. The same goes for jewellery. The gold plating must get a new gold layer on when needed, and it is advised to check locks and clasps. We support the long life of our jewellery and your pieces should last forever if properly cared for and maintained. 

BREAKAGES AND REPAIRS : 

If there is a production fault, you should send it back to us within the 14 days after receiving your order. If the item is damaged within your 3 month warranty, we are happy to repair the item for you for free, but excludes shipping costs. We can also repair any items outside of the 3 month warranty period at a low fee.
